Engineering

The Engineering Department is responsible for the surveying, designing and inspection of all construction projects on the County State Aid Highways system, the County Road System and all County and Township bridge replacement projects through-out the County. The Department is also responsible for the safety inspection of 208 township bridges, 136 county bridges and 9 city bridges. The Department seeks and implements Federal and State funding for eligible projects. Engineering is responsible for maintaining the section corner information.

SPRING LOAD RESTRICTIONS

Nobles County load postings follow recommendations from the seasonal load limits set by MnDOT. They are typically in place for 8 weeks, but may be longer depending on the opinion of the County Engineer and MnDOT.

Starting Monday, March 3 2026, the Minnesota Department of Transportation will be starting spring load restrictions in the South frost zones.

Starting Monday, April 20 2026, the Minnesota Department of Transportation will be ending spring load restrictions in the South frost zones.
