Income Maintenance is made up of the financial assistance and child support units. These units work to enhance the well-being of children and families through economic support and services.
Financial Assistance Unit:
This unit helps to provide access to economic support and health care to eligible residents of Nobles County. There are a number of programs available to help insure the basic needs of Nobles County residents are met. Eligibility for programs is determined by criteria set by state and federal program provisions. Application can be made for any of the following programs:
- Cash Assistance
- Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP)
- Diversionary Work Program (DWP)
- Minnesota Supplemental Aid
- General Assistance
- Health Care Programs
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
- Child Care Assistance
Child Support Unit:
This unit provides child support services for non-public assistance as well as public assistance recipients. This unit provides the following services:
- Location
- Support Enforcement
- Support Establishment
- Paternity Establishment
The child support unit does not provide:
- Legal Advice
- Divorce or separation services
- Spousal maintenance establishment
- Collection of unpaid debts or bills not related to child support
