Motor Vehicle/License Center

Normal Business Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM 

All transactions require a valid ID to process in our office.  Due to Minnesota privacy laws we can only disclose account information to the record owner.

Please make sure to have your updated insurance information for all motor vehicle transactions including Company Name, Policy Number, and Expiration Date.

Knowledge Exam/Road Test Appointments (State Examiners in Room 111-first floor)

Salvage Inspection Appointments 

  • Appointments will be given priority. Walk-ins will be taken in the order they arrive.

  • Driver’s License and ID applications are processed from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

  • Tab Renewals with a renewal notice (include valid insurance information), Title Transfers and Prorates may be processed by mail or via the 24 hour drop box at Door #1 (10th Street Door).

Did you know?

  • You have 10 days to transfer a motor vehicle

  • You have 30 days to change your address or name on your driver’s license

  • You have 60 days after moving to the state to obtain a Minnesota driver’s license and Minnesota license plates

  • License tabs need to be purchased by the last day of the month displayed on your license plate

  • Keep a portion of your money in your county! The filing fee for vehicle registration renewals is kept in the county if you process your renewal through our office. If you cannot make it into our office, you can mail your registration renewal to us at PO BOX 757 Worthington, MN 56187 or drop it in our 24 hour drop box located at the 10th Street entrance (Door #1) and we will mail them out to you within 2 business days! (Please include valid insurance information and a good phone number in case we have any questions)

Driver and Vehicle Services

Driver’s License Pre-Application – Complete prior to your appointment. Bring in confirmation number along with all required documents to your appointment.

Vision Form– In lieu of taking the eye exam in our office, you may choose to have your eye professional complete this form. Return the form to our office at your scheduled appointment.

CDL Medical Self Certification Form– Complete and return to our office.

Disability Parking Certificate– Complete and return to our office. We will mail the certificate to you.
