Purpose:  The Correctional Officer maintains order and safety within the Nobles County Jail.  This position caries out specific duties required for the safe and secure operations of the jail and secure movement of inmates to and from courts.  The duties range from booking incoming inmates, transporting inmates to other jurisdictions, monitoring the jail through both visual and electronic means, and intervening and controlling emergency situations in the jail.

Summer Worker – Highway Engineering/Maintenance – Public Works

2 positions – Highway Engineering/Maintenance

Nobles County is currently accepting applications for the 2023 summer season.

Highway Engineering/Maintenance: 1) assists engineering staff in engineering construction inspection activities by performing surveying, staking, inspection and testing of materials;  2) assists highway maintenance staff in performing bituminous and concrete patching, crack sealing, and mowing.     QUALIFICATIONS:  Must be 18 years of age, have a valid driver’s license, and able to work long hours in a physically demanding job.  Click for Job Description.

Assistant to County Engineer – Public Works Department

Full-Time

Level 16  Pay Rate $35.25 – $44.43/Hour

The Assistant to County Engineer is responsible for a broad range of duties providing assistance to the County Engineer in administration, supervision, and directing activities of the Engineering Department to ensure smooth operations. Oversees construction and maintenance projects through all phases, from early concept, funding, design, construction, and project closeout. Directs multiple projects simultaneously.  The Assistant to the County Engineer works independently using professional standards under the general direction of the County Engineer. Responsible for the quality and timeliness of work performed. Represents the Engineering department in the absence of the County Engineer.

The Systems Administrator provides technology support to employees/users and general support for the IT Department.  The IT Systems Administrator installs, configures and performs routine maintenance to systems software, hardware and related applications systems, responds to basic and complex technical and workstation support requests and monitors computer systems availability, performance, and security.
