Services & Permits

The following services and permits are available from the Nobles County Sheriff's Department. Information about each item is provided below. If you have further questions regarding any listed services or permits, please contact the department using the information located on the left side of this page.


Civilian fingerprints are offered by the Nobles County Jail Facility.  Fingerprints will be taken seven days a week from 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.  Appointments are encouraged by calling (507) 295-5378.  The fingerprinting fee is $10.00.

Burn Permits

Burn Permits are issued to rural county residents free of charge. To obtain a permit, please come to the Law Enforcement Center at 1530 Airport Road, Worthington, MN.

It is very important to call in BEFORE and AFTER you burn!

Paper Service

Delivery of Papers by a Sheriff’s Deputy is offered at a charge of $65 for the initial service and $25 for additional services at the same residence. Non-service is charged at $65.

Permits to Purchase Firearms

Applications for Permits to Purchase a Firearm are available at the Law Enforcement Center or to the right in the related links box.

Permits to Carry

Applications for Permits to Carry a Concealed Weapon are available at the Law Enforcement Center or to the right in the related links box. Proof of attending a certification training is needed, along with a photo ID. The cost of a new Carry Permit is $100.00 payable at time of application.  Renewal permits are $75.00 within 3 months of card expiration and $85.00 if within 30 days after card expiration.
