Engineering Department

Services & Responsibilities

The Engineering Department is responsible for the surveying, designing and inspection of all construction projects on the County State Aid Highways system, the County Road System and all County and Township bridge replacement projects through-out the County. The Department is also responsible for the safety inspection of 208 township bridges, 136 county bridges and 9 city bridges. The Department seeks and implements Federal and State funding for eligible projects. Engineering is responsible for maintaining the section corner information and is currently working with the Minnesota Department of Transportation towards implementing a Global Positioning System (GPS) within the county.
